In nature, anemonefishes, or clownfishes, are always found in close association with large sea anemones, which in turn are found on relatively shallow coral reefs. It is the symbiotic relationship between the fish and anemones that has made this species of fish of particular interest to the scientific community. Scott W. Michael has 16 books on Goodreads with ratings. Scott W. Michael’s most popular book is Aquarium Corals: Selection, Husbandry, and Natural H.

Every clown anemonefish begins life as a male. Females develop from males via sex reversal, a process called “protandry.” This sex reversal is triggered by the nature of social interactions of a clownfish community, which is usually made up of two to six fish living in one host anemone. The text about anemonefishes and clownfishes is a very good beginning but are currently (19 December ) not up to any particularly high standard. Fishes of the World doesn't even reference clownfish for this group, The first book to comprehensively deal with the family was Anemone Fishes and their Host Sea Anemones.
